Change The Wife’s Nose – THAY MŨI VỢ
Once upon a time, there was a man whose wife was graceful except for her ugly nose. When he was out, he saw another graceful looking woman with a pretty nose. It came into his mind that “I would cut her nose and transplant it on my wife’s face. Wouldn’t that be nice?”- He then cut the nose off this other woman.
Xưa có người lấy được cô vợ đẹp nhưng, bị mũi xấu. Một hôm đi ra ngoài người ấy trông thấy một phụ-nữ diện-mạo đoan-chính, mũi đẹp, người ấy nghĩ: “Ta tìm cách cắt mũi cô kia đem về thay vào mũi vợ mình, chắc đẹp!” Nghĩ rồi người ấy tìm phương cắt được mũi cô kia đem về.
Caring it home he hurriedly called out to his wife, “Come quickly! I got a pretty nose for you.”- Once she came out, he cut off her nose and replaced it with the one he had cut off first. It did not fit; also, the wife suffered a great pain.
Về nhà, người ấy vội-vàng gọi vợ: “Em ra đây, anh cho mũi đẹp!” Vợ ra, người ấy cắt ngay mũi vợ bỏ ra, lắp mũi cô kia vào. Nhưng, nó không liền, vợ bị mất mũi, lại bị đau-đớn quá!
So are the stupid in the world. They hear that aged monks and Brahmans with great fame and merit are respected and much supported. They say to themselves in these words, “There is no difference between them and us.” – They falsely pretend to be virtuous. Not only do they gain nothing, they get a bad name for their misbehavior as well. Those people are just like the stupid man cutting other’s nose only to injure his own wife.
Người ngu ở đời nghe thấy những vị Sa-Môn (11), Bà-la-môn kỳ-cựu có danh-đức lớn, được nhiều người cung-kính, nhiều lợi-dưỡng, người ngu nghĩ: “Ta cùng những vị kia như nhau khác gì, mà các vị ấy lại được hơn ta!” Nghĩ rồi, giả-xưng là có đức, đã mất thiện-lợi lại hại đức-hạnh. Như người cắt mũi cô gái khác lại làm thương-tổn ngay vợ mình!
