A long time ago, at the foot of the Himalayan Mountains, there was a small kingdom called Kapilavatthu.
Cách đây rất lâu, tại chân núi Hy Mã Lạp Sơn, có một vương quốc nhỏ gọi là Vương quốc Ca Tỳ La Vệ.
Here, the righteous and mighty King Suddhodana ruled over the Sakya clan. His capital city was a delightful place, where a mass of joyful people with handsome features and flashing eyes crowded the squares and market places.
Ở đây, có vị vua Vương Đầu Đà Nà thuộc họ Thích Ca, nổi tiếng về đức hạnh và tài trí, cai quản thống trị. Kinh đô của ngài rất đẹp, đông đúc dân cư và nhiều khu mua bán, ở đó có nhiều người tốt bụng, khôi ngô tuấn tú và đôi mắt lóng lánh.
Young girls walked gracefully along the streets, wearing their sparkling jewelers. All kinds of people travelled along the roads — noblemen in chariots, merchants on elephants and peasants on foot.
Những người phụ nữ kiều diễm đi trên đường với những nữ trang lấp lánh. Đường phố tấp nập người qua lại, quý tộc đi xe ngựa, thương nhân cưỡi voi và nông dân đi bộ.
Children played in the gleaming river and holy men and villagers bathed along its shores. The city was decorated with large gardens filled with beautiful flowers, peacocks and cool ponds. Brave warriors on horseback guarded the kingdom.
Trẻ em chơi đùa và dân làng đang tắm dọc 2 bên bờ sông tràn ngập ánh nắng. Thành phố được bao bọc bởi những vườn cây rộng lớn với nhiều hoa, những con công và ao hồ mát mẻ. Những chiến binh dũng cảm đang trên ngựa bảo vệ nhà vua.
